Who can enroll at SJLS?

St. John’sLutheran School admits students of any race, color, national, and ethnic group origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities made available to students at the school.  It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national, and ethnic origin administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, financial assistance, athletic programs, or any other school-administered programs.

If I am not a member of the church can I still apply?

Yes, while all families are welcome to join St. John’s Lutheran Church you do not need to be a member to attend the school.

How can I get more information about St. John’s Lutheran School?

What is the average class size?

The average size is 12.

Do you run a full day or half day kindergarten?

We currently offer full day kindergarten (7:50am-2:50pm).

What opportunities do students have to use technology?

We have a fully functioning Media Center.  Classrooms visit the Media Center twice per week to work on typing skills, or office programs.  In addition, all classrooms are                                                               equipped with LCD projectors and SMART boards for interactive student learning experiences. K-Grade 4 students have 1:1 iPads while Grades 5 – 8 have either 1:1 lap tops or net books for their classwork.

               What extracurricular activities does St. John’s offer?

In addition to the high standards academic curriculum offered, there are opportunities for participation in soccer, volleyball, basketball, and softball, spirit squad and track for grades 6-8; soccer, volleyball, basketball, softball, spirit squad  for grades 3-8; a band program for grades 5-8; a yearbook staff for eighth graders, and many opportunities to volunteer and serve in our school and church.  Each year students perform a play for our school families, and work on an annual learning fair project.

Are there opportunities for parents to be involved or volunteer?

Here are just some of the ways a parent volunteer can help:

What is the cost of Christian Education at SJLS?

The cost to educate a full time student at SJLS is around $6,000.  Most full time students then pay $750-1500; that is roughly $8-12 per day to attend.  In addition, both members and nonmembers can apply for tuition assistance.There are a number of options for paying tuition.  It can be paid all at once at the start of the school year.  Otherwise, a payment plan can be set up in a 10 month (Aug 1-May) or 9 month (September-May) option.
